Our data promise.

Peninsula Education is committed to respecting and protecting your data. We collect your personal information to help us understand your needs. This guides the way we interact with you in the future and how we provide you with information. We have strict policies and procedures in place to protect your data when you send it to us and when we process it to send you information that you have requested from us.

The information you send to us is processed, stored and used lawfully in the following ways:

  1. To perform our contractual obligations

Peninsula Education process your information to perform our contractual obligations to you when you employ us to provide you with training or in-house attendance support.

  1. To pursue our legitimate interests

We process your information when you subscribe to our Peninsula Updates or engage in our  websites or online business pages. This allows us to make you aware of services we think may be of value to you. In these cases, we have to balance our interests against your legitimate interests and believe that these activities will not have a negative impact on your privacy rights. You can withdraw your right to consent at any time by emailing [email protected] or clicking the unsubscribe link.

  1. To comply with our legal requirements

We process and share your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations to protect our rights or the rights of others. For example, we process the data of both schools and individuals where cases are processed for Court.

  1. With your consent

Peninsula Education process your data when we are required to do so by law. If consent is the legal basis on which we process your data then you can withdraw consent at any time by emailing our data protection officer.

What personal data do we collect

Personal data is collected in a number of ways, such as when you subscribe to our monthly Update, engage in training or in-house support services from us or provide information to us in order to fulfil statutory obligations in accordance with the Education Act 1996.

This personal data could include:

You may also choose to give us information about a third party such as their name and email address if you are attending an event. Please ensure you are authorised and have the persons permission to do so.

Some third-party information is passed to us in order for schools to meet their statutory obligations under the Education Act 1996 – in these cases Peninsula Education acts as a processor of information to meet a legal obligation.

How do we keep your information secure

Peninsula Education holds your personal data on secure systems which are mainly based in the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). All staff are required to adhere to strict data protection policies and procedures and undergo data protection training to support them in understanding the importance of GDPR and other privacy legislation.

When we ask another organisation to provide a service for us we ensure that they have appropriate security arrangements in place.

If any information from Peninsula Education or one of our service providers is transferred outside of the UK or EEA it will only be done with the correct protection procedures in place.

We will always be transparent about how we are processing your data so that you have the choice about whether you give it to us or not. We respect your preferences and will do our best to adhere to these.

If you give us consent to send you marketing information you will always have the option to opt-out or unsubscribe. We do not share your information with 3rd parties for marketing purposes.

We will use your personal data when fulfilling a service that you have requested. For example, providing you with in-house attendance support; when you subscribe to our Updates or attend one of our events.

  1. Marketing

We will only send you marketing information when you have either provided consent or where we believe we can demonstrate a legitimate interest and have balanced this with your interests and privacy. You can opt out of receiving direct marketing by unsubscribing or contacting our data protection officer.

  1. Events

We will collect your personal data when you register to attend an event or training with us.

Do we share your data with other companies?

Except as otherwise stated in our Privacy Notices we do not realise your data to third party companies.

There are certain times when we may have a legal obligation to disclose your data where it is required by Law or to respond to legal action served on us, or where we have a requirement to protect or defend the rights of Peninsula Education. We will also ensure that anyone requesting information from us has a legal right to do so.

If another company were to acquire Peninsula Education or any of our assets, that company will have the right of possession of the Persona Data collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations formerly attributed to us. They will continue to use your data as outlined in this policy unless they formally receive consent from you to process it in a different way.

The information we may collect from you about others

We will collect information from you about others where we have a legitimate and legal interest to do so. Where possible, we will ask that you make 3rd parties aware of any referrals to us and your reasons for making that referral (e.g. referral of a parent where there are attendance concerns for a child). Peninsula Education will assume that the 3rd party is aware unless you specifically tell us otherwise.

How can you gain access to the personal data we collect about you

Under GDPR, you have the right to see what information we hold about you and the purposes for which we are using it. This is known as a Subject Access Request. In responding to such a request, we may ask for proof of your identity to ensure we do not release your personal information to another person. We will respond to any requests as soon as possible, but at least within 30 days.

To make a Subject Access Request please contact: [email protected]

You may ask us to make any changes that you consider necessary to make your information accurate.

If you wish to have your personal data deleted we will review any request on a case-by-case basis. We will respond to you as soon as possible, but at least within 30 days of receiving your request.

How long do we hold your data

We hold data for a variety of different reasons and purposes. The length of time we hold your data depends on the service or product we are providing. We will only keep your data for a reasonable amount of time, which is based on the purpose for which we are using your data. Once this purpose has been fulfilled we will securely delete your data unless we are required to hold your data for longer for tax, legal or accounting purposes.
